Portuguese Radio and Newspaper
The Portuguese Radio and Newspaper Group is the largest Portuguese media organisation in Australia. Owned by the group, the newspaper ‘Jornal Portugues Australia’ replaced the 38 year old ‘O Portugues na Australia’ that had previously been distributing local and international news. Portuguese radio programs and weekly newspapers help maintain a sense of community in Australian cities. For more than 20 years the Portuguese Radio has been serving the Portuguese speaking communities of Sydney. More recently, world-wide audiences through internet live streaming have been able to interact using social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. The group is able to reach the 65,000 Australian Portuguese Speakers with the Portuguese Radio and the ‘Jornal Portuges Australia’ that is distributed every week nationally.
With a total of 178 million speakers world wide, Portuguese is the 7th most spoken language in the world and is the official language of Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and São Tomé and Príncipe. Portuguese has co-official status in Macau in East Asia, East Timor in Southeast Asia and in Equatorial Guinea in Central Africa. As a result of expansion during colonial times, Portuguese speakers are also found in Goa, Daman and Diu in India and in Malacca in Malaysia.
The Portuguese Radio and Newspaper group are well placed to present your message to both global and national Portuguese speaking communities. Advertising in the Portuguese Radio Network is an efficient way to have your service, product or message delivered to their community in their primary language.
